Sylvie is the name for the classic Roman spirit of the forest. This sconce, pinned on a wall, recalls the orchid of legendary beauty that grows and is nourished on the trunk of a forest tree. The orchid floats miraculously above the soil below, an incarnation, it seems, of the sylvan spirit. The feeling of enchantment and mystery we experience on a walk in the woods is captured in the Sylvie sconce.
